Safe Cheap Alternative to Birth Control Pills/patch/shots

As controversial and this seems at first, I feel that Birth control pills and tampons harm women's health and exploits them by profiting off of women for the bulk of her life is not something worth the advocacy or promotion by the women's rights movement, and definately not worth your money. Paying for pills and tampons your whole life may be very costly - to your wallet and your health. Thousands of women die every year or develop other conditions from birth control pills. The use of absorbable tampons create all sorts of issues for women - of which i've known about for a while. But up until two hours ago I was left in the dark about a product that makes toxic, deadly, and carcinogenic birth control pills completely unnecessary!

Here I'll just list some of the risks and alternatives to tampons and birth control products. You can either spend sixy dollars once in your life for all your menstral and birth control needs - and never risk death or side-effects - or you can spend thousands of dollars on tampons and BC pills your whole life, as well as thousands more on trying to cure whatever side-effect you develop from the long-term use of BC pills. The choice is yours. If i've convinced just one of you to do the research and you wind up purchasing any of the products, I'd love to know and i'd also love to hear a follow up testimonial please!

Birth Control Pill/Shot/Patch/etc*
-Linked to bone thiness/osteoperosis/osteoarthritis, blod clots, mood swings, weight gain, yeast infections, breast and other cancers, embolisms, stroke, birth defects, cramping and irregular periods, migranes, breast tenderness. Birth control pills can also deplete very important nutrients, including vitamins B2, B6 and B12.

The birth control industry is a $2.8 Billion dollar industry and the pharmaceutical companies keep coming out with new products that they can implant under your skin, or that change your cycle so you only get one or two periods each year. They test on and kill animals in the process, and also without properly assessing the health risks for humans. Many birth control products have been recalled years after killing thousands of women or causing other disorders.

Birth control pills work by promoting continuous high levels of estrogen in a woman's body. Science tells us this is dangerous. A woman's natural cycle is composed of rising and falling levels of estrogen and progesterone. Birth control pills work by keeping estrogen at a sufficiently high level that they fool the body into thinking it is pregnant, therefore another pregnancy cannot occur. It is not even 100% effective, but it has sooooo many health risks!

Alternatives to Birth Control Pill/shot/patch: Besides the obvious condoms, diaphram, and spermicides, here's a new one I'd like to spread awareness about: The Creighton Model Fertility Care System (CrM). It uses the science-based modality of NaPro Technology (NaPro), a women's health science that evolved from interpreting the biomarkers of the menstrual and fertility cycle, mainly, all the stages of cervical mucus and the length and intensity of the menstrual flow. See: http://www.naprotechnology.com. This technology can concurrently address all gynocological issues - anything from preventing needs to hysterectomies to preventing and curing cervical sists/cancer.

For the cost of one months worth of birth control pills, you can have a safe and even more reliable method of checking to see if you are fertile. Here's how it works: During a woman's menstrual cycle, there are only about three days when her egg is available for fertilization. Sperm can survive up to 72 hours (3 days) in the vagina and uterus, so if sexual intercourse occurs up to three days before a woman is fertile, she can still potentially become pregnant. Thus, there are about six days per month (3 days prior to fertility, and 3 days of fertility) that a woman can conceive.

It is scientifically well established that hormones filter into saliva and that during fertility a ferning pattern can be seen in saliva under a high powered magnification lens. Just prior to or during fertile days the sample will typically resemble "ferns," while during non-fertile days, only random and shapeless dots will be visible.

The Ovu-Tech is a hand-held mini-magnification lens about the size and shape of a lipstick holder. If you want to check whether you may be fertile, you simply:

1. Make sure you haven't had anything to eat or drink for 2 hours.
2. Put a small amount of saliva on the lens and allow it to dry.
3. Insert the lens into the magnification lens and push a little button to illuminate the lens.

If you are just about to become fertile or if you are fertile, you will easily see a beautiful crystalline ferning pattern under the magnification lens. This is an easy and convenient way for you to monitor your hormonal changes and enhance your awareness of your menstrual cycle. If you track your cycles and fertility on a calendar, soon you will have a keen awareness of where you are in your monthly cycle, and what is happening hormonally in your body.

Cycle awareness can be especially helpful for women who tend to have anovulatory cycles (no ovulation occurs and thus there is infertility, and no progesterone is made). If you know that you haven't ovulated in any given cycle, and thus your ovary won't be producing progesterone, you can then supplement with progesterone that month and avoid estrogen dominance symptoms such as PMS.

The ovulation kits that measure hormones in urine to determine fertility tend to be expensive, messy, and can only be used once. In contrast, at the cost of not much more than one ovulation kit, the Ovu-Tech can be used over and over, and has a lifetime manufacturer's warranty.

Risks of Tampons
-Linked to the rare but fatal toxic shock syndrome (TSS). Tampons are bleached white with toxic chlorine so as to be associated with cleanliness. However, the vagina is continually self-cleansing. It naturally washes away dead cells and bacteria. This is disrupted when the tampon absorbs all the moisture. Infections can occur when debris is not flushed out. Absorbency enhancers in tampons can cause peeling of the mucous membrane, vaginal dryness, ulcers, and lesions. Perfumes and fragrances in some tampons are reported to cause internal irritation, allergic reactions, and disruptions of a woman's microbial balance. Vaginal inflammation can result from fibers from tampons becoming embedded in vaginal walls, and tampons made chiefly of rayon have some levels of dioxin at levels which have been found to adversely affect reproductive and immune systems.

These environmentally unfriendly disposable products also continually take money out of a woman's paycheck from puberty until she reaches menopause. Now wonder they fought so hard for women to have equality in the workplace, women need to work more at their job to pay for feminine hygene products because women have special needs!

Alternatives to Tampons: Diva Cup (www.divacup.com), cost for life is $30 and no risk of death and no exposure to toxic chemicals. 1-866-444-DIVA

(I've been following Dr. Mercola for over a year now and I have found his sources to be completely cited, reliable, and I feel he is one of the only caring physicians out there. Even though none of the above products are made by his company, I have purchased many of his products and have been satisfied and I trust them. He puts the bulk of the profits from sales back into the company to research and develop wellness products. I highly recommend going to www.mercola.com and subscribing to his newsletter.)
